Residential structure fire in Fallsburg

FALLSBURG — A multitude of fire companies were dispatched at 5:29 p.m. on Tuesday, November 30 to a structure fire that consumed a family’s residence in the Timber Hill Development in Fallsburg.

According to the Fallsburg Fire Company Fire Chief, Jordan Kozachuk, there were no injuries reported for all those involved and all members of the family involved were accounted for.

Fire Departments assisting the Fallsburg Fire Department on scene included those of Monticello, Hurleyville, Loch Sheldrake, Rock Hill, including other emergency response teams such as the Town of Bethel’s FAST Team, Battalion Coordinator-3, Sullivan County Fire Investigators Art Hawker, FI-7, and Tim Fink, FI-12, Mobilemedic EMS, Fallsburg Police Department, New York State Electric and Gas (NYSEG), and the Town of Fallsburg’s Water Department.

On stand-by were Woodbourne Fire Department, which covered the Town of Fallsburg, and Liberty Fire Department, which covered Monticello.

After the fire was put out, the structure was deemed non-liveable.

The cause of the structure fire is still under investigation according to Chief Kozachuk.
