A Callicoon Holiday

Posted

The hamlet of Callicoon was bursting with the holiday spirit this past weekend as shoppers bounced from store to store for Small Business Saturday while the Callicoon Business Association’s 6th annual Callicoon Tree Lighting festivities were set to begin at dusk at the Callicoon Depot. After not being able to gather for the annual tree lighting last year due to COVID-19, everyone came out to see friendly faces and share in the holiday cheer with friends and family.

Patrons enjoyed warming up by the bonfire with hot cocoa, s’mores and cotton candy, singing Christmas carols plus a visit from Santa while waiting for the Tree Lighting to begin.

Everyone gathered in front of the tree to listen as the Sullivan West High School Choir sang a variety of Christmas carols just before lighting the tree. This year’s lights for the tree were paid for through a donation campaign on GoFundMe called "Light Up Callicoon."
